Ivo H. Daalder
President, Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Ivo H. Daalder served as the US ambassador to NATO from 2009 to 2013 prior to becoming president of the Council. Previously, he was a senior fellow in foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution and served as director for European affairs on President Bill Clinton’s National Security Council. He is the author or editor of ten books.

Ertharin Cousin
Distinguished Fellow, Global Food and Agriculture
Ertharin Cousin served as executive director of the UN World Food Programme, where she led the world’s largest humanitarian organization, from 2012 to 2017 prior to joining the Council. She also previously served as US ambassador to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome.

Samuel Kling
Fellow, Global Cities
Samuel Kling joined the Council as a visiting Mellon/ACLS Public Fellow before transferring to his current global cities fellow role. His research focuses on transportation and public space in global cities, particularly as related to equity and the built environment, and how historical methods can help policymakers approach urban planning challenges.
