At Smolinski Rosario Law, PC, Nelson M. Rosario works with clients in a variety of industries, but primarily works with companies building new technologies. His practice has a strong focus on intellectual property, particularly patents and trademarks, contracts, and legal issues related to blockchain and cryptocurrency. Prior to founding Smolinski Rosario Law, Rosario worked as an associate at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun and Lempia Summerfield Katz, for the legal department of a large multi-national consumer electronics corporation, and for a federal magistrate judge at the Northern District of Illinois. In addition, Rosario is an adjunct law professor at Illinois Tech, Chicago-Kent College of Law where he teaches two classes on the legal and technology issues surrounding emerging technologies.

Rosario received a BA in history and political science from the University of Minnesota, a BS in computer science from Florida State University, and his JD from Illinois Tech, Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has served on the young professional board of the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago and is an avid practitioner of Brazilian jiu jitsu. Rosario lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.
