Lieutenant Commander Dalton has conducted extensive intelligence and cyberspace operations throughout South America, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Pacific, where he served as a cryptologic warfare officer responsible for signals intelligence, information operations, and cyberspace operations onboard surface units, Navy special warfare units, and at national agencies. He also served as the flag aide to the director of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office and as the executive assistant to the Director of Intelligence, U.S. Cyber Command.

Dalton most recently served as the Navy Information Operations Command Yokosuka, Japan executive officer, and deputy commander, Task Force 1070.2 where he led a team of Information Warfare Community officers and enlisted personnel conducting signals intelligence, information warfare, and cyber operations throughout the western Pacific.

Dalton has received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Joint Service Commendation Medals, the Navy Commendation Medal, two Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and service awards. In 2005, Dalton received his commission from the United States Naval Academy.
