Recent Developments on the Korean Peninsula

In  the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic, the Korean Peninsula has experienced several significant political developments. South Korea’s COVID-19 response successfully flattened the curve of additional confirmed cases of the virus, allowing the country to hold National Assembly elections that produced a victory for President Moon Jae-in’s Democratic Party coalition. Meanwhile, the North Korean government claims that the country has zero confirmed cases of the coronavirus, prompting global skepticism, and rumors are circulating about the health of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Join the Council for an engaging discussion on the future of the Korean Peninsula amid widespread global uncertainty.
