Building Better, More Resilient Food Systems

The COVID-19 pandemic has pulled back the curtain and revealed the fragility of our global food supply chain. The health and economic crises have triggered a food crisis, resulting in trade disruptions, soaring food prices, and labor shortages. According to the UN World Food Programme, the number of people facing food insecurity is set to double from 2019, as a result of compounding issues such as climate change, civil strife, and economic hardships. What short and long-term solutions and collaborations across value chains are necessary to minimize the food crisis and strengthen the global food system?
