Samantha Power: The Idealist's Journey

Samantha Power, 28th US Ambassador to the United Nations. Moderated by Wendy Pearlman.

As an activist, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, National Security Council advisor, and as the United States' ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power has dedicated her career to advancing the cause of human dignity. This work has forced her to confront many of the largest and gravest global injustices, and wrestle with the question of how the US should respond. Today, the stakes are especially high, as a global movement to rollback political freedom, undermine equality, and soften the foundations of international cooperation, threaten future progress on human rights. Power joins the Council to chronicle her years of public service, and to make the case that America cannot lose sight of the world-changing power of idealism.
