LIVE STREAM: Madeleine Albright on Hell and Other Destinations

Madeleine K. Albright, Former US Secretary of State. Moderated by Ivo H. Daalder.

Madeleine Albright on Hell and Other Destinations

Since departing the office of United States Secretary of State in 2001, Madeleine Albright has remained an active figure on the international stage. In a variety of roles, she has continued to be a tireless and outspoken defender of freedom, democracy, and equality — values increasingly in retreat as the world bears a mounting resemblance to the era in which her career began over fifty years ago. In her new book Hell and Other Destinations: a 21st Century Memoir, Albright draws on her experiences over the past two decades, reflecting on the later stages of a remarkable career. In a new global landscape, marked by the turmoil of the coronavirus pandemic, she joins Council President Ivo Daalder to discuss the motivations and beliefs that have propelled her to blaze her own trail – long after many would have retired.
