Brexit Update: Conference Call

Tom Arnold, Chair, All Ireland Civic Dialogue on Brexit; Former, Director General, Institute of International and European Affairs ; Peter Kellner, Visiting Scholar, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Europe; Former President, YouGov; Martin Wolf, Chief Economics Commentator, Financial Times. Moderated by Ivo H. Daalder.

On November 15 United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May announced details of the draft Brexit deal she has negotiated with the European Commission. Council members are invited to join a conference call with expert analysts to discuss the deal, and its political and economic ramifications for the UK. What would this deal mean for key Brexit negotiating points: citizens' rights, the "Irish backstop," the Brexit transition period, and the "divorce bill"? What happens if this deal fails? And what are the prospects for a second referendum?

This was a member’s only conference call. Dial-in instructions were provided upon registering for the event. A recording of the call has now been posted for public access.
