Agnes Binagwaho on Reimagining Global Health Equity in Rwanda

Agnes Binagwaho, Vice Chancellor, University of Global Health Equity . Moderated by Brian Hanson.

Following the Rwandan genocide in 1994, the country was left in disarray with an economy, healthcare, and education system in shambles. Over the past 20+ years, Agnes Binagwaho has been an essential participant in rebuilding Rwanda’s health system by prioritizing investments in public health and social welfare and working to create an equitable health system for all its citizens. The Rwandan Ministry of Health, Partners in Health, and the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) are working to make Rwanda a leading country in health equity. What lessons can we learn from Rwanda to inform global health equity and delivery in other countries and regions?
