Tanya Jeong

Associate Director, Employee Giving and Engagement, AbbVie

Tanya Jeong leads employee engagement and giving for AbbVie, a biopharmaceutical company located in northern Chicago. In this role, she spearheads volunteerism, giving, and assistance programs for the company. Jeong launched AbbVie’s fifty-million-dollar long-term philanthropic commitment addressing racial inequity, as well as several COVID-19 philanthropic initiatives, including employee medical volunteer opportunities. Prior to this role, she led corporate responsibility initiatives for companies across multiple sectors, including consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, and insurance.

Jeong was awarded the Rising Star Award from the Association of Corporate Professionals in 2020. She transitioned from a career in advertising to community engagement as a marketing fellow in the Chicago Community Trust’s Fellowship for Arts and Culture Management. As a lifelong resident in the Chicago area, she is an active member of the Chinese Christian Union Church located in Chicago’s Chinatown.

Jeong graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with bachelor’s degrees in communications and economics. She also received her master of science in communications from Northwestern University and completed a certificate of nonprofit management from Loyola University.
