On November 18, Senior Fellow Roger Thurow received the University of Iowa International Impact Award in recognition of his efforts in public health awareness, along with fellow recipient Selma Jeronimo. The award was presented during the University of Iowa’s WorldCanvass Program, “The Tenacious Cycle of Poverty, Hunger, and Disease.”
At the WorldCanvass program, Roger outlined his career in journalism and his advocacy efforts on issues of hunger, poverty, and malnutrition in a panel discussion on the topic of “Starvation in a World of Plenty.”
