POSITION: Digital Platforms and Projects Manager
TEAM: Communications
REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Communications

SUMMARY

The digital platforms and projects manager oversees the day-to-day management of the Council's digital platforms and acts as an advisor and innovator supporting the Council’s digital communications needs, including integration of its Drupal based website with Salesforce, Pardot, and CVENT to support events and fundraising related ecommerce. S/he works closely with the managing director of communications and the database services team, and collaborates with nontechnical teams throughout the Council to plan and execute digital projects that advance the Council’s website, online applications, electronic communications, and other digital technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, develop project plans, and serve as project manager to implement new digital technologies and integrate the Council’s various digital platforms (Drupal, Salesforce, Pardot, CVENT, etc.) 
  • Manage projects and day-to-day interactions with external vendors — Drupal developers, website hosting services, and IT services — to optimize site architecture, performance, responsiveness, and accessibility, and ensure optimal setup of web infrastructure, access control, and security
  • Ensure appropriate level of training and support for content contributors to effectively use a variety of content management systems and digital platforms
  • Advise teams throughout the Council on website, ecommerce, and digital communication resources
  • Oversee the implementation of site search optimization strategies of content and meta data of the Council’s web presence
  • Execute basic website updates and changes to navigation, site structure, and content working within various CMS platforms 
  • Provide related communications technology support at Council events
  • Perform other projects as assigned
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four+ years of experience in project management, and implementation and support of web-based online services and other technology projects such as content management, digital communications, and analysis 
  • Computer science or project management educational background
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and overseeing time/cost estimation as well as quality, risk and change management of digital, and IT projects
  • Preferred experience working with Drupal CMS, Aquia Drupal services, Salesforce
  • CRM, Sprout Social Media Tools, email marketing systems (preferably Pardot), live streaming video software (such as Wirecast), and digital project management tools (such as Jira)
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and other analytical tracking platforms
  • Understanding of open source web development platforms and tools, mobile platform development, systems integration, and programming methodologies 
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical details to managers, stakeholders, and nontechnical staff 
  • Experience with implementing best practices related to web technologies and processes 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach to working on cross-functional teams 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
