Asia Soft Power 2008 The Chicago Council on Global Affairs in collaboration with the East Asia Institute (South Korea) conducted a six-nation public opinion survey examining the current and potential use of Soft Power -- the ability to wield influence by indirect, nonmilitary means, whether by persuasion or attraction -- in East Asia. The survey was carried out in the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam.
World Public Opinion 2007 The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and WorldPublicOpinion.org collaborated with organizations in other countries to undertake a follow on study to the 2006 Chicago Council Public Opinion Survey on the rise of China and India. This survey included questions asked in the 2006 Chicago Council survey and was conducted in 18 countries and the Palestinian Territories. The countries surveyed include roughly 56 percent of the world population. The study focused on key international issues, including climate change, globalization, the future of the United Nations, U.S. leadership, and the rise of China. The full report of the study was released on June 25, 2007.
