U.S.-CHINA TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION FORUM

Keynote Address by His Excellency Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China

In conjunction with Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to the United States in mid-January, a U.S.-China Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum is being organized in Chicago to highlight the importance of this strategic bilateral relationship. His Excellency Chen Deming, Chinese Commerce Minister, will open the program. This high-level symposium will feature four panels with senior business and government leaders from both nations, focusing on the future of China-U.S. business relations. Topics will include: building a long-term sustainable commercial relationship, promoting clean energy and a green economy, and deepening small and medium enterprise (SME) partnerships. The forum will conclude with a luncheon keynote address by Chinese Vice Commerce Minister His Excellency Wang Chao.

The summit will be attended by Chicago and Midwest business executives and a Chinese delegation of close to 400 senior executives from industries including: energy, automotive, electrical equipment, construction, real estate, banking, food, textile, and pharmaceutical. Download a preliminary list of the visiting China business delegation (PDF)
