About This Event

As one of the United States’ strongest allies in Europe, Germany plays a key leadership role as a member of the G-7, G-20, EU, and NATO. In 2021, Germany’s foreign policy is facing a number of challenges—from renewing its affairs with the US and navigating complex relationships with China and Russia to bouncing back to a pre-COVID economy and strengthening the EU in the first year following Brexit—all while Chancellor Angela Merkel’s 16 years of leadership come to a close in September.

Council President's Club and leadership members are invited for the opportunity to lead the conversation with their questions and share perspectives at a Discussion Table event with German Ambassador Emily Haber on a wide range of issues, from the future of the US-German alliance to Germany’s approach to critical geopolitical and economic challenges in a pivotal election year.

About our Discussion Tables

Discussion Tables are designed to provide unique and exclusive access for Council leadership members to engage directly with sitting foreign and national leaders, as well as influential policymakers who impact critical global issues. Members lead the conversation alongside an international community of globally-minded business people, academics, NGO professionals, and civic and community leaders with the goal of sharing perspectives that matters most to them.
