Dawn H. Miller Executive Director, Major Gifts Dawn Miller joined the Council in September 2003 and is currently executive director of Major Gifts. She is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a broad range of philanthropic strategies to secure significant major gifts in accordance with annual institutional goals. Prior to joining The Chicago Council, Ms. Miller was director of individual giving at the Aspen Institute, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering enlightened leadership and open-minded dialogue. Other noted assignments in her twenty-year fundraising career include, opening the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park, October 1999; and creating the Chicago Community Task Force to sponsor the 1996 Olympic Torch Relay celebration in Chicago while at United Way. Ms. Miller is a graduate of Pine Manor College, Chestnut Hill, MA. She is a member of Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Chicago Council on Planned Giving, and the Executive’s Club of Chicago.
