Transforming food systems in times of
conflict and climate change

Seat at the Table:
A Devex Dish Event

Monday, April 25, 2022

1:00 p.m. ET | 7:00 p.m. CET

About the Event

Join Devex on Monday, April 25, for a live broadcast of Seat at the table: A Devex Dish event. This event will feature a series of conversations with policymakers, funders, corporate execs, and civil society leaders on the actions necessary to transform the global food system and to combat hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity around the world.

These discussions come at a time when the topic of food systems reform is more pressing than ever. Global hunger numbers — which had already been moving in the wrong direction — are skyrocketing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and exacerbated by climate change and conflict.

How exactly will financial commitments materialize, and what mechanisms are in place to track performance and success? What data is needed to provide successful, sustained progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 2 of ending hunger? How can the world take advantage of the opportunity to "build back better" after the pandemic to ensure food system transformation?

We’ll discuss these questions and more as we explore the role of finance, technology, and policy in global food systems solutions. Conversations will center on the following themes:

• The role of foreign policy in the fight against global malnutrition.
• Effective financial investment in food systems reform.
• The tie between food systems reform and climate change.
• Understanding the links between conflict and food security.
