FY 2010 State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill
The FY 2010 State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill helps protect America's national security through effective diplomacy and development. It provides needed assistance to frontline states – Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq – and it promotes security, economic development, health, education, food security, and environmental protection around the world. The bill also provides vital resources to rebuild the capacity of the State Department and USAID. It reverses a decade of reliance on supplemental appropriations and provides an honest accounting of the cost of critical national security initiatives.


New Partnership for Trade Development Act
The bill proposes to amend the African Growth and Opportunity Act and the Trade Act of 1974 to provide improved duty-free treatment for certain articles from certain least-developed countries, and for other purposes. Spronsored by Representative Jim McDermott.


FY 2010 Agriculture Appropriations Bill
The bill includes $23.304 billion in net discretionary budget authority, a $2.7 billion discretionary increase over the fiscal year 2009 enacted level, and $325 million above the President’s request. It makes substantial improvements in the areas of nutrition, international food assistance, food and drug safety, research, and other important mission areas of USDA and FDA.



2010 State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill
The bill makes appropriations for the Department of State, foreign operations, and related programs for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, and for other purposes.



Global Food Security Act of 2009 - H.R.3077 

This bill authorizes appropriations for fiscal years 2010 through 2014 to provide assistance to foreign countries to promote food security and agricultural development, to develop rural infrastructure and stimulate rural economies, and to improve emergency response to food crises, to amend the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, and for other purposes. Introduced June 26, 2009.  Sponsored by Representative Betty McCollum.   



The Roadmap to End Global Hunger and Promote Food Security Act of 2009 - H.R. 2817 

This bill addresses global hunger and improve food security through the development and implementation of a comprehensive governmentwide global hunger reduction strategy, the establishment of the White House Office on Global Hunger and Food Security, and the creation of the Permanent Joint Select Committee on Hunger, and for other purposes.  Introduced June 11, 2009.  Sponsored by Representatives Jim McGovern and JoAnn Emerson.



Initiating Foreign Assistance Reform Act of 2009 - H.R. 2139
The bill proposes to direct the President to develop and implement a comprehensive national strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting global development, and for other purposes. Introduced April 28, 2009. Sponsored by Represenatives Howard Berman and Mark Kirk.
