Global Agricultural Development Leaders Group
The Global Agricultural Development Leaders Group was convened in fall 2008 to assess the risks posed by rural poverty and food insecurity in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and identify opportunities for the United States to work with governments and institutions in Africa and South Asia to increase productivity, market access, and incomes for small farmers. This bipartisan Group is comprised of thirteen former executive branch, congressional, international organization, and civic leaders in the fields of U.S. foreign policy, trade, international economics, agricultural development and international organizations. Its findings and conclusions are put forth in the report,
Renewing American Leadership in the Fight Against Hunger and Poverty: The Chicago Initiative on Global Agricultural Development.
